National Calendar Awards
The Time - 6.oopm, January 19th 2011
The Place - Stationers' Hall, London
The Event - The National Calendar Awards
After months of planning meetings to arrange it, here we were, finally, this was going to be the best ever! Pat and Kaye had worked tirelessly to make this happen. It was going to be different.
All the great and the good were there, Laurence Prince and his crew from Danilo, Gary Beck and his gang from Calendar Club, David and Rob from Avonside, Steve and Karen from Icarus, Rich and Dave from Pyramid, Frances from Flametree, Michael Rose from Rose of Colchester and loads more. And there was us! Dilu from Alltrade, David from Premier, Claire my wife and our very special guests Chris Christoforou and Jan Leeming! What a coup!
For the first time in a long time we'd also got ourselves a guest speaker, Rachel Bridge, Enterprise Editor for the Sunday Times. And what a speaker! She joyfully entertained us with her one woman presentation of How to Earn A Milllion Before Lunch! Wow!
Before the night Daniel Prince and I had had a bet on who could bring the most high profile guest along. Well Daniel's turned out to be a video recording of Sir Cliff Richard accepting the award for the Best Celebrity Calendar. A good one Daniel but videos didn't count I'm afraid and so I won hands down. The tenner went to a very good cause I can tell you, me!
Was it the best ever? ABSOLUTELY!
And of course we also gave out awards, more of that later.........

Our gang left to right Dilu Mukadam, David Jones, Rachel Bridge, Chris Christoforu, Jan Leeming, Claire and me.
